At some point, I came across some PCBs that had edge plating. If you aren’t familiar, edge plating is a process where the edges of the PCB are plated with with the same finish as the rest of the board, which is essentially the same as a plated through hole. The board you are plating the edge of needs to be supported while its in the panel, which unfortunately means you need to have support structures attached to the coin. Because of this, its not possible to plate the entire circumference of the coin. There is also a minimum distance from the edge of the PCB inward (about 4mm), where the edge plating spill over onto either side. I did not know about this requirement for the first batch, so this overflow covered up a lot of the text. This design has the exact same dimensions as an American Half Dollar coin.
